Practical Self-Defense Seminar
for Women Taught by Women

When: 9:00am - 11:00am

Cost: $40 per person

Please Note: Registration will be paid at the door on the day of the event. Must be at least 16 years old to participate.

What can I expect?

This seminar will be a combination of mental/concept and physical training. We will review core concepts and introduce ways to handle physical attacks. Women will partner with other attendees to practice the defense. There will be some men from the dojo there to practice on if attendees would like to try out the defenses on a man. The instructor for the dojo will be present but the class will be taught by two women who actively train at the dojo.

What should I wear?

Wear clothes you are comfortable working out in but would not be disappointed if they get torn during training. Outside shoes are not allowed on the mat but please wear socks. Please do not wear jewelry.

What if I’m not physically fit?

As long as there is no danger to you working out, your fitness level doesn’t matter. An attacker will not hesitate to attack based on your perceived lack of fitness. We can modify most defenses so that you can participate. Be sure to let your training partner know if there are any things they need to watch out for. For example if you have bad wrists.

How intense is this? Are we hitting each other?

This is a hands on self-defense seminar. However safety is our priority. The techniques are taught under supervision. But the only way to ensure the defense works is to practice it.

How soon should I arrive?

Arrive 15 mins before the start to check in.

What should I bring?

Water in a closed container. The registration fee.

Are there any age restrictions?

In order to get the most out of the seminar, the minimum age is 16 years old.
