Practical Self-Defense Seminar
for Women Taught by Women

When: Saturday March 22, 2025

When: 2:00pm - 4:00pm

Cost: $40 per person

Please Note: Registration will be paid at the door on the day of the event. Must be at least 16 years old to participate.

What can I expect?

This seminar will be a combination of psychological and physical training taught by two women, a blackbelt and a brown belt, with a dojo sensei on site.

 

We will review core concepts and introduce ways to handle physical attacks. Women will partner with other attendees to practice, with the option to try the defense on some of our male blackbelts from the dojo.

What should I wear?

Wear clothes you are comfortable working out in but would not be disappointed if they get torn during training. Outside shoes are not allowed on the mat but please wear socks. Please do not wear jewelry.

What if I’m not physically fit?

As long as you are cleared for general exercise, your fitness level doesn’t matter. An attacker will not hesitate to attack based on your perceived lack of fitness. We can modify most defenses so that you can participate. Be sure to let your training partner know if there are any things they need to watch out for (for example if you have bad wrists).

How intense is this? Are we hitting each other?

This is a hands-on self-defense seminar, where we will practice real situations to ensure the defense works. However, safety is our priority,  and the techniques are taught under close supervision.

How soon should I arrive?

Arrive 15 mins before the start time to check in.

What should I bring?

Water in a closed container. The registration fee. Please leave valuables including purses locked in your vehicle.

Are there any age restrictions?

In order to get the most out of the seminar, the minimum age is 16 years old.
